SCIO DIAMOND TECHNOLOGY

Scio Diamond Technology Corp, is a technology leader in lab grown diamonds. Using a patent-protected chemical vapor deposition process to produce high quality, single-crystal diamonds in a controlled laboratory setting, Scio delivers near colorless and fancy colored diamonds to the gem and jewelry industry. Scio also delivers diamond materials to several industrial applications where hard diamonds are used to cut, polish, mill and grind. Scio’s lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to earth-mined diamonds and offer flexibility in size, color and quality combinations that are very rare in earth-mined diamonds.

Lasers

Scio Diamond has demonstrated the first 1 inch single-crystal diamond wafer as a result of its work with the Army Research Lab (“ARL”) to exploit the chemical inertness and high thermal conductivity of the CVD diamond in high power electrical conditioning and thermal management for scalable solid state lasers in directed energy weapons. Scio Diamond has also worked with the Naval Research Lab (Dr. James Butler) on weapons grade diamond laser windows. Further opportunities with ARL are expected to be focused on large area, affordable diamond wafer sizes (1” or larger) for the above-referenced applications.
