Single-Crystal CVD Diamond

The most recent, and perhaps most significant, breakthrough is the development of modified CVD techniques to successfully manufacture extremely high quality single-crystal diamond. The proprietary process produces low nitrogen Type IIa single crystals that are generally grown as water white (colorless/near colorless). Less than three percent (3%) of all mined diamonds qualify as Type IIa diamonds.

Scio Diamond can also grow gemstones in pink, cognac, blue or jet black colors. These diamonds are identical in all respects to the highest quality diamonds mined from the earth, and are ideal for use in applications that previously were unreachable by lab-produced diamond materials such as electronics, optics, biotechnology and gemstones. Single-crystal CVD diamonds are expected to have the greatest impact on the emerging cultured diamond industry.
